Why ORGANIC INDIA Uses Whole Herbs

Why does ORGANIC INDIA use whole herb, when most of the industry prefers the convenience of extracts?
Our herbs are grown organically with biodynamic farming techniques, harvested by hand and locally processed. At the factory, they are dehydrated in a dry, sterile environment. This limit of moisture prevents phytochemicals degradation. Then they are gently ground, slowly, at low temperatures, so the matrix of the bioactive molecules is preserved. In this form, the herbs are highly bioavailable to the gastro-intestinal tract. Then they are filled into 100% vegetarian capsules - free of toxic chemicals, solvents or alcohol.
Why do we go to such efforts? According to Dr. Narendra Singh, who dedicated 40 years of rigorous research to developing and fine-tuning our herbal medicines, whole herbs are far superior – and safer – than extracts.
We strive to ensure our products have the whole herb in its most vital complete form for very important reasons. At ORGANIC INDIA we care about preserving the vibrational essence of the whole herb as a medium to transmit information to our DNA to enable healthy growth and repair work at the cellular level to happen. Herbs are a complex mixture of many hundreds of compounds, which offer complex information and buffer against harmful effects.
The synergy of naturally occurring constituents are of vital importance in phytomedicine (the science of preparing medicinal herbs). Vedic scriptures mention exclusively whole herbs, with their prana, or life force, intact. Modern day science confirms that the herb’s vibrational information does have an important role to play in healthy DNA function. Isolation of bioactive compounds alter the whole plants’ phytochemical interactions, and extracts can concentrate some substances, while leaving out other important bioactive compounds. Chemically isolated substances may become more potent, but can also be more toxic. Phytochemicals cannot be more effective and active than in their whole form!
To understand this further, let us start by asking – “how does the whole herb work to make changes in us…?”
All matter is vibrating energy, manifest.  Today we are discovering the actual mechanisms that transmit messages from our environment (food, emotional input, stress, yoga, toxins etc) to in turn act on our DNA, producing bodily changes and even leaving permanent genetic changes that can be passed on to new generations.  Such “wild” ideas, first developed over 40 years ago By Dr. Bruce Lipton, a pioneer in stem cell research, are now becoming the stuff of mainstream science.
Dr. Narendra Singh, The ORGANIC INDIA formulator of genius, always maintained that it was not simply a slow chemical transfer through the bloodstream that enabled herbs to work their magic, but rather it is their ability to emit a vibrational signal that is received by the outer layer (epigenesis) of the DNA strands, which then modulate the expression of physical matter via the DNA blueprints, to effect reconstruction, healing and health in our bodies. He stressed the importance of growing healthy organic herbs, and drying them in ways that maximised their vital essence. In this way, even a tiny amount can still release all the complex information necessary to effect cellular change, much like a radio signal can be picked up even when very faint and still hold all the information.
Studies have shown DNA will respond to very subtle frequencies, responding to mere microwatts of Rf waves. US Army studies further showed that even the emotional responses of the owner of DNA can cause changes in DNA activity when many miles apart, and with no obvious mechanism for connection. A true example of quantum entanglement.
For more information take a look at these articles:
In brief:  our genes are “stored blueprints” that respond to sets of instructions provided from their external environment. These instructions can establish permanent changes in how our DNA is expressed. The intelligence is not resident in the blueprint, but in the environmental coding that gives the instructions of what is needed, as well as when and where. This is what our biologically dynamic whole herb supplements do so well. It is not simply about the quantity of herb either; it is about the quality, completeness and vitality of the energetic signal that transmits to our DNA. And the changes – both good and bad, can be passed on to other generations.
To quote Dan Hurley from Discover Magazine, reporting this data:
The methyl group works like a placeholder in a cookbook, attaching to the DNA within each cell to select only those recipes — er, genes — necessary for that particular cell’s proteins. Because methyl groups are attached to the genes, residing beside but separate from the double-helix DNA code, the field was dubbed epigenetics, from the prefix epi (Greek for over, outer, above).

Originally these epigenetic changes were believed to occur only during fetal development. But pioneering studies showed that molecular bric-a-brac could be added to DNA in adulthood, setting off a cascade of cellular changes ….

Geneticists were especially surprised to find that epigenetic change could be passed down from parent to child, one generation after the next. A study from Randy Jirtle of Duke University showed that when female mice are fed a diet rich in methyl groups, the fur pigment of subsequent offspring is permanently altered. Without any change to DNA at all, methyl groups could be added or subtracted, and the changes were inherited much like a mutation in a gene.

Now, at the bar in Madrid, Szyf and Meaney considered a hypothesis as improbable as it was profound: If diet and chemicals can cause epigenetic changes, could certain experiences — child neglect, drug abuse or other severe stresses — also set off epigenetic changes to the DNA inside the neurons of a person’s brain? That question turned out to be the basis of a new field, behavioral epigenetics, now so vibrant it has spawned dozens of studies and suggested profound new treatments to heal the brain.
This research, although focused on traumatic effects, also would apply to beneficial effects being passed on.  It offers a mechanism to explain the importance of good thought, food and intention making a real difference in one’s expression of health as well as the genetic inheritance you can pass on to others.
According to the new insights of behavioral epigenetics, traumatic experiences in our past, or in our recent ancestors’ past, leave molecular scars adhering to our DNA. Jews whose great-grandparents were chased from their Russian shtetls; Chinese whose grandparents lived through the ravages of the Cultural Revolution; young immigrants from Africa whose parents survived massacres; adults of every ethnicity who grew up with alcoholic or abusive parents — all carry with them more than just memories.
So while research tends to focus on the negative impacts, good effects are also transmitted – such as the benefits of meditation, good diet and affectionate company.  So as well as taking in whole herbs along with good wholesome food, be sure to include a regime that brings you in touch with good affectionate people and allows you time to flood your inner environment with the many benefits of life enriching meditation.
